CIMARRON COUNTRY CLUB
RGV WIRELESS INITIATIVE LUNCHEONBrownsville-Eduardo Rubio, Eddie Hernandez, Sergio Martinez, Jose Luis Lopez
The Rio Grande Valley Wireless Initiative Luncheon at Cimmaron Country Club was a rousing success. City Wireless expert, Bobby Vassallo spoke.
Attendance was excellent and the entire valley was well represented. Harlingen-Commissioner, Larry Galbreath and Asst. City Mgr., Gabriel Gonzalez
Sky Pilot's Jerry Dodson described scenarios where the cities could collectively share bandwidth, while still maintaining the integrity of their own systems. A major surprise was that Paul Gordon, CEO and President of Sky Pilot, flew in from California's Silicon Valley for this important luncheon.

When technical questions were asked, Paul Gordon was more than happy to explain the technology side of things. Well recognized around the "Wireless World", all appreciated Paul Gordon's attendance. "Paul recognizes the importance of the Rio Grande Valley, strategically and from an International trade perspective. This luncheon is extremely important for team-building between Valley cities. The Valley whole, is much greater than the sum of its parts. Separated, it just won't work. And, no Federal funding will be available for a Valley system, half baked, said Mark Pease of McAllen Wireless."

The luncheon approached three hours, as many questions were asked and answered by both Sky Pilot and In Motion Technology executives. Much was learned and a real feeling of Valley participation was in the wireless air. Bill Summers (on right with Tito Torres of McAllen) of the Rio Grande Valley Partnership, having just completed his 21st year as president, was please with the communication and exchange of ideas at the event. He was praised at the luncheon and congratulated on both his 70th birthday and his 50th anniversary! Bill is seen above with Tito Torres.
